EXHEAT FP hazardous area immersion heaters provide certified heating for Zone 1 & Zone 2 (Flammable Gas) and Zone 21 & Zone 22 (Dust) hazardous areas and explosive atmospheres according to ATEX Directive.
Typical applications for the EXHEAT FP rod type immersion heater include tank heating for oil and water, frost protection and boiler equipment.
The immersion heater is suitable for applications with ambient temperatures between -50°C to 60°C and the terminal enclosure is certified IP66 and made with either mild steel or 316 stainless steel as specified by the client.
The FP rod-type immersion heater range is certified for use in hazardous areas where the atmosphere is classified as a Zone 1 or 2 (IIA, IIB, IIC) gas group, or a Zone 21 or 22 (IIIA, IIIB, IIIC) dust group.

- Mild steel or 316 stainless steel terminal enclosure with weatherproof protection to IP66 or Enclosure Type / NEMA 4 or 4X
- Choice of built in process temperature sensors
- Temperature Range – suitable for ambient temperatures from -60°C to +60°C (subject to cert parameters)
- Mounting – the immersion heater can be by a threaded NPT or BSP boss or an industry standard flange
- Installation – designed for horizontal installation (vertical mounting version available on request)
- Options – can be supplied with the terminal box mounted away from the fixing boss / flange

The EXHEAT FP hazardous area immersion heater can be easily be installed horizontally unless stated that the heater should be used in vertically orientation.
The FP immersion heater should be securely fixed in position and all terminal connections checked for tightness before energising.
