For large flows at moderate head – water plants, cooling water circuits, irrigation – the double-suction split-case pump is the most efficient choice. For high pressure at moderate flow, choose the horizontal multistage pump or the space-saving vertical multistage pump.
When flows are large (from about 300 mu00b3/h) and the pump runs continuously. The double-suction impeller balances axial thrust and gives high efficiency and long bearing life.
