Product Overview

VEGA VEGASON ultrasonic level measurement sensors are suitable for non-contact level measurement of liquids and bulk solids in simple applications with stable measuring conditions.

With ultrasonic level measurement the VEGA VEGASON hazardous area sensor emits a short ultrasonic pulse which is reflected off the product surface and is received back again by the sensor.

This then calculates the level from the running time of the sound wave and the entered vessel height. The non-contact measuring principle is unaffected by product properties and allows setup and commissioning even without medium.

The compact design of VEGASON ultrasonic level sensors enables a simple installation and as the properties of the product do not influence the level measurement the set-up can be carried out without the medium in place.

The reference pane for measurement is the lower edge of the transducer. With all ultrasonic sensors, a minimum distance from the lower edge of the flange must be maintained.

Ultrasonic level sensors provide a cost effective method of level measurement and offer excellent product longevity.
