Product Overview

This axially split multistage pump is built to API 610 BB3 for high-pressure services where downtime is not an option: oil-field water injection, long-distance crude oil transfer, boiler feed, seawater desalination and refinery or coking units. Hydraulics designed with CFD give high efficiency, and the split casing allows the complete rotor to be removed without disturbing the piping.

Engineered for very high heads

With up to 1740 m head and 280 m³/h, one pump can replace several smaller units in series. Opposed impellers balance the axial thrust, and a double-volute design balances the radial forces, which extends the life of bearings and mechanical seals. The first-stage impeller is optimised for low NPSH.

Reliable, monitorable construction

Heavy-duty bolting prevents casing deformation and inter-stage leakage. The rotor is dynamically balanced, all rotor parts are stainless steel and the bearing housings have connections for vibration and temperature monitoring, so the pump can be integrated into online condition monitoring. Cartridge metal-bellows seals with a self-flushing cyclone separator need no external seal water system.

Installation and maintenance

Suction and discharge nozzles sit below the shaft axis, so the upper casing half can be lifted for inspection with the pipework in place. Centreline mounting keeps alignment stable with hot liquids up to 104 °C.

Frequently asked questions

What is an API 610 BB3 pump?

BB3 is the API 610 designation for a between-bearings, axially split, multistage pump. It is used for high-pressure duties where easy access to the rotor matters.

What head can it reach?

Up to about 1740 m, depending on the number of stages and the impeller diameter selected.

What information do you need for a quotation?

Flow rate, head or vacuum level, the liquid or gas and its temperature, required materials, motor voltage and frequency, and any standard or ATEX zone. A data sheet or the nameplate of an existing pump is ideal.
