Replacing legacy high-bay fittings with LED is one of the most reliable energy-saving measures in industrial buildings — provided the luminaires are specified correctly.
Efficacy is not the whole story
Lumens per watt matter, but so do optics. A narrow beam in a high-racked aisle puts light where it is needed; a wide beam suits open production areas.
Plan the controls
Occupancy sensors and daylight dimming often deliver savings comparable to the LED upgrade itself. Confirm driver compatibility at the specification stage.
Ask for photometric data
IES or LDT files allow a lighting design to be verified before purchase, avoiding over- or under-lit spaces.
