The BFW CL 500 is a 5-axis vertical machining centre that gives workshops access to 4+1 and 5-axis machining with the quality of premium brands at a more accessible price. It is ideal for complex parts that would otherwise need several fixtures and setups.
Roller guideways, precision ball screws and absolute linear scales on all axes, combined with backlash and pitch-error compensation, give repeatable positioning. A spindle chiller, air-conditioned electrical cabinet and full machine guarding are included.
A Ø680 mm table carries up to 350 kg with 700 / 520 / 500 mm travels, A-axis tilt from −110° to +100° and a full 360° C axis. The 10,000 rpm spindle delivers 11 / 16.5 kW, and a 30-tool disc magazine handles multi-operation parts. The range also includes the CL 400 and CL 600.
The CL 500 is supplied with a Siemens 828D SL control and a 15-inch screen, with the 5-axis Siemens 840D SL as an option. A CAD model post-processor and an optional Siemens CAD-CAM package shorten the path from model to machined part.
Coolant through the spindle at 20 bar with hydrocyclone filtration, a coolant chiller, mist collector, laser tool measurement and a universal tool presetter are available. For higher-end simultaneous 5-axis work, compare the Swift Nx.

The rotary axes position the part at an angle and lock, then the machine cuts with the linear axes. It is a simple way to reach several faces in one setup. For fully simultaneous 5-axis machining, choose the optional Siemens 840D SL 5-axis control.
The table is Ø680 mm with a 350 kg load, and travels are 700 / 520 / 500 mm on X / Y / Z.
