Product Overview

The BFW Swift Nx is a simultaneous 5-axis machining centre for high-precision, complex parts. An FE-optimised gantry structure, a high-torque built-in spindle and an integrated cradle-type rotary table deliver precise indexing and a high surface finish on aerospace, medical and automotive components.

Accuracy built into every axis

Linear scales on all linear axes and absolute encoders on the rotary axes are standard, and the tilting axis uses a tandem (gantry) drive. Together with an optional volumetric compensation system, this keeps 5-axis kinematics accurate across the whole working volume.

Two sizes

The Swift Nx5 has a Ø500 mm table, 700 / 795 / 600 mm travels and a 400 kg payload. The Swift Nx8 offers a Ø800 mm table, 1100 / 1100 / 600 mm travels and 1000 kg. Both tilt from −120° to +30° on A and rotate 360° on C, with a 12,000 rpm spindle (15,000 rpm option).

Productive and ergonomic

A 32-tool chain magazine is isolated from the cutting zone for clean, safe tool loading. Siemens Sinumerik One with Mdynamics and a 15-inch multi-touch screen gives smooth 5-axis toolpaths, and a dual chip conveyor with bed wash keeps chips moving.

Choosing a BFW 5-axis machine

Choose the Swift Nx for high-precision 5-axis machining of complex parts on a cradle table. For larger, heavier parts on a horizontal 5-axis platform, see the Orion Fx; for an affordable entry into 5-axis, compare the CL 500.

Frequently asked questions

What does simultaneous 5-axis machining mean?

All five axes move together during cutting, so the tool can follow complex 3D surfaces at the best angle. Parts with undercuts or free-form surfaces can be machined in one setup with a better finish.

What is the difference between Swift Nx5 and Swift Nx8?

Nx5 has a Ø500 mm table, 700 / 795 / 600 mm travels and 400 kg payload. Nx8 has a Ø800 mm table, 1100 / 1100 / 600 mm travels and 1000 kg payload.

Which control is fitted?

Siemens Sinumerik One with Mdynamics and a 15-inch multi-touch display.

How many tools does the magazine hold?

32 tools in a chain-type magazine isolated from the working zone.
