Product Overview

The BFW Xtron is a C-frame vertical machining centre with a moving table, built for job shops and production plants that need to hold tolerances on prismatic parts day after day. A rigid cast base, roller-type linear guideways and a dynamic axis design give fast rapids and high acceleration without sacrificing accuracy.

A VMC sized to your parts

The range runs from the compact Xtron 433 to the Xtron 1577, which offers a 1700 × 710 mm table, 1500 / 700 / 700 mm travels and a 1500 kg table load. All models use a BT40 spindle, and the larger models can also be ordered with BT50, so you can choose high speed for aluminium and finishing work or high torque for steel and cast iron.

Built for uptime

Hardened and ground ball screws, absolute encoders and centralised automatic lubrication are standard. The machine is designed to be TPM-friendly, with a choice of front or rear chip disposal to keep the working area clean on long cycles.

Configure it for your process

Options include coolant through the spindle at 16, 25 or 40 bar, a chip conveyor, linear glass scales, a spindle chiller, table-mounted probing and an automatic front door. With the provision for a 4th axis rotary table or a 4th/5th-axis rotary-tilting table, the Xtron can grow from 3-axis milling to multi-face machining.

Where the Xtron fits

Choose the Xtron when you need a versatile 3-axis workhorse. For high-volume drilling and tapping, look at the BFW Omega drill-tap centre; for a pallet changer and shorter idle time, see the Novell V+; for very long parts, the TCM travelling-column machine.

Frequently asked questions

Which sizes are available in the BFW Xtron range?

Seven models: Xtron 433, 544, 755, 955, 1166, 1366 and 1577. The larger models offer tables from 1300 × 610 mm to 1700 × 710 mm and X travel from 1100 to 1500 mm.

Can the Xtron be supplied with a BT50 spindle?

Yes, on the larger models. The Xtron 1166, 1366 and 1577 are available with a BT50 spindle (6000 rpm, 11 / 15 kW) for heavier cutting; the smaller models use BT40 spindles with speeds up to 8000 rpm or more depending on the version. The brochure lists the spindle options for each model.

Can the Xtron be upgraded to 4 or 5 axes?

Yes. A 4th axis rotary table and a provision for a 4th/5th-axis rotary-tilting table are available as options.
